Beck Wood Car Park

The Parish Council have decided to trial closing the car park at Beck Wood during fine weather spells, which we hope will deter those who may be inclined to anti-social behaviour. We have tried many other strategies over the years, including double yellow lining outside the woodland to deter illegal parking. We have asked the police on many occasions to patrol the area but the issues are tied to fine weather and the police are not always available. We will review the trial at our June meeting. Comments from residents would be welcome for consideration during the review. Closing the car park is a last resort for us but we feel that unfortunately we have exhausted all other options. Harewood Road School Junction

Following an incident at the crossing next to the school at Harewood Road, Parish Councillors along with Ward Cllr Matthew Robinson, met with Leeds City Council representatives to discuss how best to improve the area. As a result, a number of changes will be made to the crossing and adjacent junction to make it safer for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers.
